How to get paid jailbreak tweaks for free (the legal way)

Jailbreak tweaks are a fundamental part of my week. I’m always excited when a new, useful (or just plain cool) tweak hits a repo. Refreshing Cydia has become a part of my morning routine, right up there with opening my eyes.

Occasionally a “big one” will hit Cydia. A tweak like Auxo 2 or Vertex gets everyone excited, but many people (myself included) think twice before dishing out real money for a tweak. Sure, the tweak is worth it, but I have to justify the price by making sure I’ll use the tweak frequently if not daily.

There are a couple ways, however, that being stingy with tweak money can become a thing of the past. After using Bing Rewards for a while, points will accumulate, allowing for the purchase of a gift card or other item of your choice. If you have your eye on a jailbreak tweak, go for an Amazon gift card (the $5 gift card is a better deal than the $3 one, if you can wait that long). In case you haven’t noticed, when buying a tweak in Cydia, you can choose between Amazon or PayPal. The second way to purchase tweaks without spending a dime is through a service called AppBounty. Simply visit their site and follow the instructions, and you can begin to download various featured apps, run them, and get points for it (don’t worry, you can delete the apps after you get the points). With this service, you can get both iTunes and Amazon gift cards, along with a few others such as Google Play, Steam, and Xbox LIVE, so if Bing Rewards provides you with sufficient tweak money, you can always use your AppBounty points for iTunes gift cards instead – it’s completely up to you.
